Seeds & Growing

Yes, all Orchwood seeds are 100% non-GMO. We are committed to providing natural, open-pollinated, and heirloom varieties that you can trust.
Many of our seeds are certified organic, which is noted on the product page. All of our seeds are grown using sustainable practices, even those not carrying organic certification.
Store seeds in a cool, dry, dark place. A sealed container in the refrigerator works well. Most vegetable and flower seeds remain viable for 2-4 years when stored properly.
The USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map can help you determine your growing zone. Enter your zip code at the USDA website to find your specific zone. Each product page includes zone recommendations when applicable.
This varies by plant type and your growing zone. As a general rule, start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before your last expected frost date. Check each seed packet for specific timing recommendations.
Absolutely! Every seed lot is tested for germination rates before packaging. We guarantee a minimum germination rate that meets or exceeds federal standards. Our seed lots are typically well above the minimum.
While we cannot guarantee growing results due to varying conditions, if you believe you received a defective seed lot, please contact us. We stand behind our seeds and will work with you to make it right.
